Rick Left Me, But He's Back

Went to see Mom on Sunday and when she saw Rick she started crying and saying that she thought she'd never see him again. It was difficult to determine just what was going through her head; however, we think that she believes that Rick had left me.

Then she told us that she'd been on a trip to Reno. I said, "How was the ride because Reno is 10 hours from here across the desert?" She replied, "Well, we didn't go that way."

LOST!

(This happened about 3 months ago during the first snow storm here.)

So, it's 8:20 am on a Friday morning. My phone rings, it's an aide from Mom's assisted living. She explains that Mom won't take her pills or eat her breakfast because Mom thinks that I'm lost in the mountains. The aide puts Mom on the phone..."Renee is that you?" "Yes, Mom, this is Renee and I'm at home and I'm fine." "Are you sure you're OK?" "Yes, so let them take care of you and take your pills and eat your breakfast." "Well, OK. I'm glad you're OK."

...I'm ALWAYS amazed by what goes on in Pink G's mind.

I Party Too Much

Pink G called me on my cell phone!!!! I was shocked, because she rarely can figure out how to use the phone. This was in October and Rick and I were driving home from ATV riding. She was so upset because she was so tired, but couldn't go to bed because she was watching all MY grandkids...her great-grandkids! I tried to tell her that the kids don't live in Utah, but her hallucinations are very real to her. I called my brother, Wayne, who lives very close. "Quick, get to Mom's, she's having a meltdown!" He calls me about 30 minutes later to explain that Mom thought I had dropped off all the kids so that Rick and I could go to a party. So, Wayne put Mom to bed, and "took the kids home".

Congrats! Pink G got Married

Mom announced last week that she got married. She can't remember her groom's name, and she thinks he's at work all the time. But she wants me to get her some new skirts and scarfs to wear for her man.

Pink G is a famous babysitter :)

I haven't updated here in so long because my brother moved near us to be closer to our mother and I mostly posted to keep him updated...I think I'll try to keep up with this blog again.

Well, currently Pink G is back in the Alzheimer Unit. She had been living in assisted-living for over a year since the last stint in the Alzheimer Unit. But she has deteriorated more and so here we go...

Mom announced that when Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball had Desi Jr, Pink G was hired as the babysitter for the little tike. (Sigh)
